Why become an INCPEN member?

  • Because our membership spans the whole value chain of packaging, we have a unique position in convening and collaborating the views of our sector.

“INCPEN sits in a unique sweet spot in the packaging sector”

  • Our material neutral position gives us an objectivity that is helpful and valued with key organisations and Governments.
  • Our membership matters and our voice matters, in the UK alone our members contribute over £10 billion a year to the economy and employ over 600,000 people….
  • One size fits all, we value all our members and their issues and views, regardless of their size. All INCPEN members have a place at our Board table and we work to support them equally.

“The summaries INCPEN produces on Government consultations and new legislation are really helpful for me.”

  • Membership of INCPEN is an efficient use of members resources. As well as being part of a meaningful sector voice in sector collaboration and change, many members cite the time they save through our support in keeping on top of the complex, ever changing packing agenda.

“It’s good to know that INCPEN has ‘got my back’ when it comes to keeping up with regulatory changes”

  • Our small but highly experienced team bring knowledge and skills valuable in our sector including the ability to form productive, collaborative relationships.
  • Members receive full and first access to research we commission including our annual survey of over 5,000 UK citizens and their views on packaging.

INCPEN Trade Association Group (TAG)

INCPEN has well established partnerships with like-minded organisations from parts of the economy interested in packaging systems. This is our Trades Associations Group (TAG). TAG includes all the main packaging materials sectors: cartons, glass, metals, paper/card, plastics and wood. We pull together this collective of 38 representative bodies and jointly benefit from sharing collaborative approaches on packaging issues, particularly government consultations shaping UK and European packaging policies.

What our membership says about us

“It’s good to know that INCPEN has ‘got my back’ when it comes to keeping up with regulatory changes on packaging and what they may mean for my sector”

“I always found INCPEN to be super useful in my previous role so when I moved organisation, I was keen that we signed up for membership”

“The summaries INCPEN produces on Government consultations and new legislation are really helpful for me. Packaging is only part of the wide environmental remit of my role and I don’t have time to go through them all in depth myself”

“INCPEN sits in a unique sweet spot in the packaging sector because they have an objectivity that comes from their material neutrality and their work spans the whole value chain”

“INCPEN was always known as an organisation strong on research, it’s good that this continues with their annual citizen insights work”
